Updating tinyCampaign is an easy three step process. Read the instructions thoroughly before attempting to update.
Step 1: Backup Your Database
Before attempting to update your installation, make sure to backup your database. If you’ve never attempted to do a database backup before, check out Backup and Restore MySQL Database Using mysqldump or How to backup MySQL database using PHPMyAdmin.
Step 1: Replace Files
- Get the latest tinyCampaign zip file from CodeCanyon. Download it to your desktop or somewhere else that is easily accessible.
- Extract the zip file.
- Deactivate all plugins.
- FTP to your site using using an FTP Client.
- Replace all the current files with the new files from the extracted zip you downloaded. Do not delete any files or folders from your existing installation except for the ones being overwritten by the new files and unless otherwise stated in the release’s changelog.
Step 2: Database Update
To update the database, you must be able to log into your server via a shell terminal. When logged in, run the following command ./phinx migrate -e production. If you do not have shell access, you can update your database manually by logging into PHPMyAdmin, and import the included .sql file in the extracted folder on your desktop or where ever you extracted the zip file.
Step 3: Run composer
Sometimes packages get updated or added. So make sure to run the following command every time you upgrade:
Make sure that you have composer installed.
